Sep. 2025 - Dan Moran Aviary - Signage (3)

Do note that this image was taken on September 24th, 2025 at the Oklahoma City Zoo in OKC, Oklahoma, USA.
The Dan Moran Aviary was constructed in the mid 1980s (1984 or 1985). When it was first opened, it had a South American theme and this was one of the original graphics. I can remember seeing Blue-winged Mountain Tanagers, Silver-throated Tanagers, Golden Tanagers, Violaceous Euphonias, Red-and-White Crakes, and Amazonian Motmots when it first opened. By 1988 it had changed to a mixed-continent tropical bird building. I don't believe any of the birds on this sign occupied the aviary, but the Zoo has held Red-legged Honeycreepers and a breeding pair of Hawk-headed Parrots.
