On the day of my visit, this enclosure was signed for the following species: Arrau River Turtle
Green Iguana
Radiated Tortoise
Smoky Jungle Frog
Yellow-Spotted River Turtle
Yet, ironically, I did not see any of those species, and found a Yellow-Footed Tortoise instead!
I really loved this exhibit and the massive open-top poison dart frog exhibits. It's such an interesting way to exhibit them as amphibians are normally exhibited the same way at every zoo.
It is a shame that there's multiple very water-dwelling turtles in an enclosure that doesn't have all that much water. Mud or box turtles would've been a better fit
Indeed, the river turtles do live in the pond next door, it’s just that the signage accompanying this exhibit mentions them; which initially confused me given their semi-aquatic lifestyle.
