This outdoor turtle exhibit is relatively new (opened around 2021 after former Harpy Eagle and Eurasian Eagle-Owl aviaries were demolished). I regularly see Ornate, Three-toed, and Eastern Box Turtles as well as Painted Turtles (I can't tell Western from Eastern), Spotted Turtles, and Ouachita Map Turtles. I believe that the Indian Star Tortoises and Diamond-backed Terrapins are rotated in and out seasonally, while the Blanding's Turtles and Wood Turtles are kept in the enclosure adjacent to the building where they are difficult to see. There are also one or two Southern Painted Turtles (Chrysemys dorsalis) that were added after this sign was created.
