Sewerby Hall and Gardens, paddocks area 11th November 2012

Path between the cliff top paddocks and those in the grounds of Sewerby Hall. This used to be a sunken path but it was filled in when the walls began to crumble. There used to be a bridge between the paddocks (then one large one either side) and the deer would be moved from the cliff top one to the estate one for the summer months where they looked very well in dappled sunshine. There was a small opening in the gate between the paddocks to allow Bennett's Wallabies free passage. I think the cliff top paddock was divided into two following the death of a young Guanaco called Pixie that was killed by stags.
