This is Nelson, a Shag with only one eye. He had been found in a distressed condition and brought to the zoo. Unfortunately after he was featured in the local paper vandals broke into the zoo one night and killed him. I think it was around the same time as that incident that a Humboldt's Penguin was beheaded.
