I took this photo a couple of months ago but never got around to uploading it. This is the first time I have seen siamangs in the open topped orang-utan exhibit and I must say they really used the extensive climbing frames and space to their advantage and really showed off their agility.

I did see the initial introductions on a show about the zoo but I've never personally seen it and don't know if they do.

Are the siamangs and orangs ever mixed together?

No.
The 2 female hybrid orangutans, the three pure sumatrans and the 4 siamangs are all kept in separate areas of the complex. They are rotated daily(?) between the indoor, outdoor and caged exhibits.

:)
