Forumster Animal seems to have some unique and remarkable talent for taking "portrait pictures" and making them, somehow... more interesting than your "standard" portrait picture. I have commented on this before, especially concerning his photography work at The Alfred Brehm House.
I can´t really put words to this; it just seems evident to me. And this is another such great picture!
