Sichuan Takin exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo

This is only a portion of the exhibit. This used to be Andalas', the Sumatran Rhino, former exhibit.

There is two small shade structures in the exhibit, as most of the exhibit is shaded by the mature trees. The shade structures also have misters installed on them.

Blackduiker

New kid recently born and noted by mstickmanp, observed during my 'Music In The Zoo' outing. Very cute and active during this annual evening fundraiser.

Also observed new structure surrounding Baird's Tapir exhibit. Must be preparations for Giant Otters soon to be displayed there.

When I was at the zoo on Saturday I didn't see the baby. Probably since it was almost 100 degrees.

I don't really know anything about what's going on with the giant otter project.

Well you must have seen the baby Takin on your last visit right Mario? You got some good shots of the Giant Otter, no baby Takin or was she hiding from you again?

I actually didn't even pass by this area of the zoo. I was volunteering when I took the photos of the giant otter. Hopefully, I'll see her tomorrow.

I was at the zoo today, and I still did not see the baby. The mother was at the back of the exhibit looking into the barn, so I guess the baby was in there. I waited for 15 mins, but all the mother did was lay down and the baby never came out. I left because it was getting hotter by the minute.
