Sign of Planckendael

This quite nice work is next to the path from the second parking to the entrance of Planckendael, formerly next to the path to the old entrance, that closed in 2007.
I wanted to clarify the story behind the lion statues at the sign. These lions are a replica of the bronze lions at the Central Train Station of Antwerp. The national Belgian railroad company NMBS (NCBR in English) donated the original lion statues in 1959 to the adjacent Antwerp Zoo for renovation works, which moved them to Planckendael. In 2009, the lions were reinstalled at the Central Station. In gratitude, the NMBS donated a replica of the lions, where they once again shine on the same place in the park.
