Yes, I think hybridogenetic speciation in a large primate would be something of a surprise (and the fact that they're basing this on captive animals makes it even more laughable).
The best that can be said about the sign is at least it's clear and honest that these are hybrids, and tells you clearly what the 'parent' species are. Beyond that...
