signage for takahe (Porphyrio hochstetteri)

The Te Anau Wildlife Centre is a small free-entry DoC-run facility, mostly housing rehabilitated birds I gather, although there are also takahe there.

If you look very closely (with a magnifying glass!) there is a pair of takahe in this photo, above the D in Difference on the right-most sign, at the base of the big flax bush.

@Chlidonias Judging by the information boards / signs here the education value of this park must be excellent. New Zealand and the way they are conserving their wildlife and educating the public are inspiring and definitely leading the way in conservation.
