The penguins on the sign should be little blue penguins (Eudyptula minor), but instead they're banded penguins (genus Spheniscus). Though admittedly some of these occasionally and accidentally reach New Zealand, it's quite an inaccuracy.
Also, that crocodilian looks more like a South American caiman than any of Australia's crocodile species.
