This is a species of Ceiba from South America, sometimes referred to as palo borracho or silk floss tree. But there are African/Madagascar baobab trees in the Flower Dome as well.
You are right! The signage for the baobab's was close, thus I presumed this was one as wel. As amazing as this place was, not all plants seemed to have name signs unfortunately.
