yes, the green corrugated plastic on top recreates the effect of forest canopy, and the surrounding foliage is suggestive of their natural habitat. All in all, a very appealing exhibit.
(There is also behavioural enrichment in the form of visitors poking them and shaking the cage)
I visited in October 2009. On the http://www.zoochat.com/238/medan-zoo-north-sumatra-112525/ thread there's a link to another site with photos of the primates in these same cages from a year previously. Sadly, these cages are their permanent homes.
