I'm told those windows limit the enrichment you can give to the polar bears. Give a polar bear a log and with one push from a paw and the windows are gone! Do you give the public stunning views of the animal swimming, or do you give people a lesser view but more enrichment. It's a tricky one for zoos and almost a no win situation when it comes to the general public.
