How modern are all these exhibits any one know? I Was in Singapore in Dec 2001 but decided against going to the zoo as after a week in Bangkok and then 3 in Australia I was just to weary to do anything on my overnight stay. I only hope these wonderful displays have been created since then............

The baboon exhibit opened in August 2001. You would have seen it if you made the trip. The major exhibits that came up after this were the Elephants of Asia (2003), Orang Utan free-ranging areas (2006-2007), Kidzworld (2008) and Frozen Tundra coming up in 2013.
Well the next time I'm heading East I will make the trip, from what I recall the main advertisements I saw were for the Bird park and night safari rather then the zoo it's self.
one of those "gutted" moments I suppose.

You can actually view a lot of the baboon exhibit with nothing between you and the baboons (other than air) and you are very close to them. Superb exhibit.
How many nubian ibexes in there? Do they live with baboons without any accidents?
I think baboons could be harmful for ibexes when 2 species are in the same enclosure,
since baboons are too fierce and too active.
The ibex and baboons don't share the same space although the exhibit is designed to give that impression. The ibex enclosure is on a cliff at the back of the baboon enclosure.
