This aviary opened in 2013 as a replacement to a series of very outdated parrot aviaries. Thus, Skærup doesn't keep any parrots anymore (very unusual for a small zoo), but some of the replacement species are not to be scoffed at.
The species list for the aviary is:
- Little egret
- Grey peacock pheasant
- Black-crowned night heron
- Puna ibis (the only ones in Denmark)
- Boat-billed heron (the only ones in Denmark)
- Pied avocet
- Black-necked stilt
- Glossy ibis
- White-faced heron (the only ones in Denmark)
