Is this sloth bear cement pit still in existence or has it been demolished by now? It is interesting how there are still many concrete grottoes for bears all over the world, although not nearly as many as there were a decade or two ago.
Artis abondoned keeping indian sloth bears in 2003 after the death of the breeding brace "Silvester" and "Sonja". The last offspring from 1999 was shipped to Japan und Nikolaev. Unfortunately the female already passed away....
