The snow leopard and fishing cat enclosures are all simple, meshed exhibits that were only a couple of minutes off the main zoo pathway. I saw them in 2006, before they were closed to the public, and at the time there was need for an upgrade in the safety of the area. Apparently one of the cat enclosures was in need of a renovation and the zoo didn't want another tiger incident.
it is off exhibit officially because of accessibility. even though i loved the fcc (feline conservation center) i think that post tatiana event, closing this was a good idea. there was rarely a keeper in the area and considering you can't monitor evil humans, its best just to close it off. the fcc will be closing soon and other areas are under current renovation to move the snow leopards, ocelots and fishing cats to the main parts of the zoo.
The Snow Leopards are now living in the enclosure adjacent to the East-end of the Lion House. It is not connected to the Lion House. The Fishing Cats are living in the enclosure adjacent to the Main entrance of the Lion House. Their inside quarters are inside the Lion House. The Ocelots have been moved to other Zoo's.
