Another rent-a-penguin temporary exhibit in an American zoo? That once again proves my point that penguins are true SUPERSTAR attractions. I spent 3 days at the Calgary Zoo this past summer and the line-ups to see the brand-new penguin attraction were an hour long all day. And the exhibit had already been open for 6 months! I'm beginning to think that penguins are in the top 5 most popular animals that can possibly be seen in either a zoo or aquarium.
Very good point. I think that this is what an average person craves at a zoo, in this order.
1. Great Apes
2. Elephants
3. Big Cats
4. Giraffes
5. Penguins
For an aquarium:
1. Cetaceans
2. Pinnepids
3. Penguins
4. Sharks
5. Rays
