Recently cleared end of the Small Mammal House. This actually used to house large mammals - the orangutans while the Ape House was being built, and then (if memory serves me right) the mandrills.

Not that I know of. I believe at one point the house was going to make way for a new baboon enclosure but I don't know if that is still the case. Pied Tamarins and Goeldi's Monkeys are still in residence.

Yes, Mandrills were definately in there after the Orangutans. Previously they had been in a large cage adjacent to the old Monkey house, and even earlier than that, in the 'Drill Row'- the row of barred cages that joined onto where Leopards and Bears were kept.
Me too. There is some discussion about the cage on the London Zoo Developments 2012 thread from post #243 ( relating to the orangutans). Maybe you can remember what this end cage looked like inside?
