The building is a smaller replica of the Waterpoort (water gate) at Sneek, Friesland, the Netherlands (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterpoort). In the front is part of the "bird-friendly garden" pond and in the back is part of the Van der Valk Avifauna hotel.
