snow leopard walkway

May 13, 2016.
Very nice to see this kind of feature in use - especially by a snow leopard!

Is it a small snow leopard or are they tall arches? Did something else previously make use of this walkway? :)

The arches are tall. This exhibit complex was specifically built for snow leopards and Amur leopards in 2015.

Keepers need to access the walkways to sanitize, place enrichment items and scents.

Yes, as a matter of fact the keeper was up there just prior to this photo being taken (obviously before the snow leopard was given access). There are main exhibits on either side of the walkway and the connecting doors from the walkway can be closed on both ends or open on one end. So a cat is put off exhibit in one side and the cat on the opposite side exhibit has their tunnel access closed off. The keeper then goes into the exhibit of the cat that has been put into their night quarters and climbs up to the tunnel to clean or whatever.
