Snow Leopards Chessington Zoo 14 August 1986

A pair of Snow Leopards Unica unica at Chessington Zoo. This was the first time I had ever seen them, and my only reason for going to Chessington. I still like them.

they dont have these any more, i think thats where the persian leopards are now

I expect so, I've not been since 1991 so I don't know anything about Chesington now.

this was the old enclosure up where ramesis revenge is now, the giraffe were next door, they were then moved down to what is now the fossa enclosure, 1.2 jaguar lived in what is now the persian leopard enclosure. Following the demise of 2 of the jags the decision was taken to switch amazon the jag with the 1.2 snow leopards, one of the snows went to a private collecter in hertfordshire, NOT Pete James, and the other 2 kashgar and shah were euthanised due to age related issues and FIV symptoms being shown in blood tests in the late 90's
