Someone Screwed Up

Broken glass on the piranha tank. The fish were still in there.

The window was being fixed when I was at the zoo in mid-January.

It may be double or triple paned glass. So just because one pane broke does not necessarily mean the fish were in any danger.

These things do happen. The glass is laminated which means the layers have a flexible layer connecting them. There can be any number of causes from faulty installation to a visitor with a rock. It has occurred at the biggest and best exhibits around the world.
This repair will be relatively inexpensive. When it happens in a gorilla viewing area or hippo then $$$$$$$$$$$$$
