@Zoofan15 It used to be a monkey enclosure back in the day; and is one of the oldest exhibits still in use at Melbourne (alongside the Great Flight Aviary and the Reptile House).
@akasha I’m annoyed Auckland Zoo bulldozed their historic aviary in recent years. It was built in 1922 when the zoo opened and was still fully functional (housing macaws) until the end.
@Zoofan15 the old Orangutan houses though are still there which is a good thing imo. They've kept some very very old exhibits dating back to the early 20th century, which helps provides a comparison of how exhibits were then compared to now.
