South Australian beach debris

Outer Harbour, Adelaide, September 2025
The beach at Outer Harbour in Adelaide is covered in hundreds of soft balls of what look like brown fur. I couldn't imagine what they could be other than something to do with seals, but when I looked them up online I discovered that they are in fact the matted remains of sea grasses (Posidonia australis) rolled into shape by wave action.
