Although I had seen this very nice species of felid in the past, this was the first time I had seen this particular subspecies, and also the first time I had been able to observe a caracal remaining still long enough to adequately photograph!
This pair of caracal was kept in the small carnivore enclosures near the Alfred-Brehm Haus.
