Subspecies from southern New Guinea, single specimen housed with other rarities like the Sulawesi hanging parrot (Loriculus stigmatus stigmatus) and Salawati fig parrot (Psittaculirostris desmarestii occidentalis) in the park's northernmost edges near the mouflon exhibit.
