Southern helmeted currasow

Aviary opposite parrot range, Lotherton, 21st September 2018
Took care for it at Walsrode during 1986 after which it was send to Antwerp. At Walsrode we then recieved a pair of Northern helmeted currasow with which we bred very well :).

I indeed have some ideas about that :
1 ) the number of specimens brought into captivity is ways smaller as the number of Northern helmeted curassows kept. This is because the area where the Northern is found is much easier to reach as the areas where the Southern is found.
2 ) The Northern helmeted curassow is found also in lowland whereas the Southern should be a real mountain ( cloud ) forest species is and in general cloud-forest-species seem to be more difficult to keep ( and breed ) in captivity..
