I visited Zurich Zoo in October of 2003, and I still think that this spectacled bear/coati set of habitats is amongst the best zoo exhibits ever created. Simply spectacular!
I saw bears and coatis on my one and only visit, but I agree that this exhibit is mind-blowing. There are great panoramic views of the enclosure, and it is one of those habitats where it is difficult to tell where the area begins and ends.
Thanks Pat! I have visited 75 different zoos and aquariums in my life, and I think that I have uploaded photos from 62 of them into the ZooChat gallery. Having said that, I have at least 3,000 photos just from the Woodland Park Zoo and Greater Vancouver Zoo.
This day was my first visit at Zurich Zoo and I saw (I guess) three bears and five coatis. The only one I didn't see were the ducks.
It's the best enclosure I've ever seen.
These three enclosures are connect with swing bridges (trunks). So the animals can be seperated.
