Giant Eland

spinifex hopping mouse (Notomys alexis)

Is this the only hopping mouse species in captivity? I saw them in the Melbourne Museum.
 
@DavidBrown TWP used to have northern hopping mice (Notomys aquino), but seeing this photo it's no longer the case
 
Ah darn that would've been nice to see Notomys aquino, considered I had already seen spinifex before on my previous Australia trip, albeit with not as good of photographs.
 
Sorry, it's actually aquilo and not aquino.

Most spinifex hopping mice are kept in nocturnal enclosures, but in Wildlife Sydney you can see them in a daylight exhibit. I made a nice photo of one over there.
