Spotted Paca Chester Zoo 7 September 1989

Spotted Paca (Agouti paca). Two pairs of these rodents were housed in what is now the bush dog enclosure. They hardly ever showed themselves, and I was lucky to get this shot.

That makes three of us, but I doubt we'll see them at Chester again since they aren't endangered. They'd look nice with the bears.

Well with the sloths new home also to be home to a terrestrial mammal as well apparently, you never know, it will be this or more likely Agouti... but lets not get ahead of ourselves guessing.
