Hannover and Dvur Kralove have bred several times black springbock. I belive, Hannover has curretntly one or two of them on exhibit, if they yare still alive. Both were born in the past years.
Dvur Kralove imported large groups of both melanistic and leucistic springboks from SAR in the 1970es and wanted to keep them breeding as separated linies. Both morphs ran out after some time, while the melanistics kept themselves a little longer. The last animals were later added to their normal coloured herd. Descendands of Dvur Kralove´s springboks therefore still produce a dark animal here and there.
