Well done. I could barely see them indoors, let alone photograph them, when I was there. She'll be in for a nice surprise if she does move on to another zoo!

You must have visited on a very gloomy day. The indoor areas aren't light and bright but they aren't exceptionally dark either.

I thought the orang and gorilla indoor areas at Paignton were much darker than Dudley.

Reflections were the main problem if I remember correctly. As you so eloquently said in your report, you have to look through the windows with a pair of imaginary binoculars Paignton's ape house does have its own set of problems with light.
