Chlidonias 7 Sep 2017 that's a nice bird. It makes me think of malkohas, which are my favourite cuckoos. The photo looks like it was taken in winter in North America though.

ralph 8 Sep 2017 Well Monteverde is pretty cool in the early morning, the background is white and the cuckoo chose the one leafless tree in the area so that might be why. And technically, Costa Rica IS North-America. Saw a wild malkoha in Thailand as well
