Nice to see this extremly rare species is kept at Fort Worth ! Howmany did they have / did you see ?
I remember my joy - must have been around 1988 - when one of the zoologists from Walsrode showed me the new Woolly-necked storks he had obtained for the Birdpark Walsrode and which I had to take care for. Althrough I had never seen Storm storks before, I directly recognized the new birds ( 2 ) as being this species, the first ever kept at an western zoo !
I believe they have just two, that is how many I saw. They are in the waterfowl exhibit on the cliff above the right Indian rhino habitat. They share an exhibit with white-naked (I think) cranes and some duck. I was excited to see them as well, I don't think I realized how rare they were on my first two visits. Glad I saw them this time.
