This is Emi, at this stage she was very young and had only been captive in LA since Nov 1991. She was captured March the same year.
She was the most fantastic animal I have had the pleasure to work with.
How wonderful to see a picture of her when she was so young! She was always my favorite animal to visit while at the Cincinnati Zoo. My visits just aren't the same without her She has been greatly missed by the whole community.
I remember the excitement of seeing her on arrival here in Los Angeles. My first ever viewing of her species. Then after the joint breeding program with the Cincinnati Zoo, seeing her offspring Andalas sent here on exhibit. Real zoological memories for me!
