This enclosure (around 60 years old) is now empty, along with the nearby sloth bear and sun bear exhibits. The 2-acre center of the zoo is going to be an Asian Tropical Forest by the summer of 2014. The small-clawed otter, children's play area and aviary open in May of 2013 and the Malayan tiger and sloth bear exhibits (two enclosures for each species) will debut in 2014. The zoo broke ground last month on the $20 million project.
