This is Molek, the elderly tigress. Molek was born in a litter of 1.2 cubs at Wellington Zoo in 2000. Molek and her brother are now deceased; but her sister, Mencari, is now the oldest Sumatran tiger in the region. Molek is survived in the region by her son and daughter at Tasmania Zoo. They were part of the first litter of Sumatran tiger cubs born at Auckland Zoo in 2008.
