Sumatran Tiger - Sep 2008

This exhibit is actually quite a bit larger than what is shown in the photograph, but I have heard from many Aussies (and myself when I was there in 2007) that it is terribly difficult attempting to spot a tiger with all of the lush plants in the enclosure.

And I bet with time this exhibit will only become ??lusher/more lush?? and it will be even harder to spot the big cats.

the trees have gotten taller so some of the undergrowth has been cut back.

Would be difficult to spot a tiger in the wild too I guess!

It was a new exhibit, so like Ben mentioned, a lot of the plant life was still getting established. Should be good when the plants are a bit more mature.

Can anyone share a picture from this year with the grow of the vegetation. Horticulturally they did a splendid job on the selection of the plants. It feels like Asian rainforest!
