When I saw the old black and white photos in thumbnail form, I was hoping they were Caspian or Javan tigers. I know there were Javan tigers in Germany in the 1960's, so theoretically someone on ZooChat could have seen them before they went extinct.
There was also a Javan tiger in the Netherlands in the 1960-ties, at Dierenpark Tilburg ( now closed ). I visited this zoo during this time but was only 3 - 4 years old so I can't remember if I've seen it........ !
