This very elderly sun bear almost never comes out of the night house during the day. When I used to volunteer at the zoo I was there every week and I would see the bear an average of once every two or three months. I was showing a fellow ZooChatter around and he said he stopped by Reid Park a couple days ago and saw it. Then today when he is with me the bear comes out again. He must be some kind of sun bear whisperer!

When my wife and I were touring Reid Park Zoo in 2011 we also saw the sun bear...right before we went around the zoo with you. Maybe the bear doesn't like the look of your camera!
