This one is part of a series over the years where the animal has been changed. The Sun Bear here is just chilling out, thumbs in his trouser belt, wondering what the people are freaking out about.
Compare to this one from 2008 with the most evil Zebra ever spawned. The zoo no longer has Zebra, perhaps not surprisingly if they were all this evil.
This one from 2011 showed a Lion which was less dangerous-looking than the Zebra but considerably less relaxed than the Sun Bear which followed.
The blood on the child's face is a bit shocking. Also, isn't the word 'zookeeper' usually listed as a single word? The sign clearly shows 'zoo keeper' with a space in the middle. Interesting...
I suppose graphics are allowed to be more graphic in New Zealand (Pun very much intended).
Also are we going to talk about the terribly inadequate barriers in these exhibits? It shouldn't be a surprise kids are falling in to the exhibits that don't come close to meeting minimum requirements for just about every zoo ever.
