Swinhoe's striped squirrel (Tamiops swinhoei) at Newquay Zoo - January 29th

Another notable exception to my usual focus on carnivores, this small squirrel is almost impossible to photograph well, as I found at both Newquay and Shaldon the following day, due to their constant motion - stopping only to eat.

I'm quite partial to rodents, I think they make a great exhibit if displayed properly. But as you say, a bugger to photograph! ;)
