Rocks and water in an armadillo enclosure... Bizzarre. Is that all there is to it, or does the armadillo have an enclosure larger than the photo makes it look with digging substrate? Also, it looks like a sorta walkthrough enclosure. Does the rope cross the visitor path?
I couldn't see any soft substrate at all in the enclosure.
This is a glass-fronted set of three areas; one is closed off for short-clawed otters, and the other two are separated by a low barrier (visible here on the left). The middle enclosure can be seen more clearly here: http://www.zoochat.com/740/mixed-species-enclosure-sunshine-aquarium-tokyo-436345/ , and I have attached a wider view of the enclosure shown here.
