one of several rare or endangered local herptile species the zoo works with. Another is the Alpine She-Oak Skink (Cyclodomorphus prealtus) which I think is normally on display in a tank beside this one - there was a sign for it overhead - but when I visited there were none on view.
This tank is behind a window, so there is some glare. The skink itself is just barely visible between one of the rocks and the pale piece of wood to the left of the tank.
