The numerous Short-beaked Echidnas in this exhibit next to the Platypus and Wombat House were as active as Echidnas can get in the daytime. In the warmer Northern Australia they are evidently more nocturnal than down south, so seeing them out and about in Taronga may not be that unusual, even if I was amazed at the sight of them all on the go and bumping into each other.
