Now that you point it out, these obviously don't look like ants.
But it occurs to me that I didn't know clearly and succinctly what the exact difference between an ant and termite is from a field identification perspective. According to google, this is the appearance of two distinct body segments in termites and three in ants. (obviously this is not the fundamental difference between the two by definition, I just mean a clear marker in the field).
