Context: This sign at near the boat dock of the zoo, says that the bharals would still be present in the smaller mountain enclosure next to the markhor, even though they’ve been gone for at least three years now. As someone who goes to the zoo frequently and loves bharals, this sign infuriates me every time I see it.
I recall when I went to the Tel Aviv Safari Park in 2016, the map at the time had a ratel in one place. So, eventually I go to this area - I find Persian leopards, Fennec, but no ratel. I search the area some more ... the ratel is nowhere to be found.
Apparently the map at the time was outdated - the ratel left a good while before my visit
